How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

,,,i understand that any Cypriot can vote for the President, choose to do so, and you will see how the Parties will flock to woo you. make your own Parties and make Democracy work, because those who are the balance of power have the most say.

And one more thing, things have changed drastically in Cyprus since 1974. One positive outcome for the GC community from 1974 was that it acted like a crash course in political maturity. At some levels the RoC is a politically more mature society than any in the vicinity and in that comparison I include Italy. Just notice the different approach to the financial crisis between RoC and Greece and the difference should be obvious.

Maybe that is the reason Erdo is calling for a more active participation by Greece, he would like to have fellow clowns to dance with.

I agree that the Roc has matured but has it developed into a paragon of justice for its people ie.. Judicial expediency and transparency...so Vp's questions can be answered?

[quoteSo basically you are saying we close our eyes and take a leap of faith? You may view yourselves in that manner but to us you have not changed one iota your ultimate goal still appears to be total control of the whole island with us TCs reduced to minority status in our own country.

If you dont trust someone would you go into business with them knowing full well it could cost you your future?

...who stands for Cyprus? we must stand for Cyprus.

i see no future for Cyprus divided between its "Greeks" and its "Turks", i am neither, although i am Greek, i am Cypriot first.

...you may be at peace, vp, the way things are, because it suits you personally, but things cannot remain the same, as though Cyprus, and Cypriots do not exist. "you" do not exist, and there is a good reason for it, whether "Greeks" continue to exist or not. Bicommunal, and Bizonal, a Unitary State having two levels of Government is a good future for all, as Individuals, and as Persons, if Greek Cypriots, being the vast majority see its value for themselves, and other Cypriot Constituencies as well. "you" can choose to lead as a Constituency, but without the other Constituencies behind you, how do you propose to demand reform from the Federal Government?

...the debate is flawed, as it is, think about it.

Cyprus is not "Greek", vp, but neither can it be, "Turkish". Cyprus is Cypriot, first.

...i mean if you rethink this most cynically, it works, Eroglu gains an equal and a partner, Anastasiades starts to gets serious as a Statesman, because he can. he will not (be able to) represent Cypriots as Greeks, there is no need to, they would have that representation for themselves. he would have to represent Cyprus, representing Cypriots (and Cyprus) without any other distinction or discrimination, as Individuals, as Citizens, its living things, the Land and The Sea (because it is what we, in the end, want, as Cypriots), and if he hopes under these conditions to be re-elected, he can demonstrate the Leadership we need to engage ourselves externally, and toward the future; internally, having established the common goals, we can receive and create for ourselves services that suit the electoratse of more than one Constituency, being as Cypriots, not just Bicommunal, but Bizonal as well.

I wouldn't suggest taking a leap of faith to that degree because Cyprus and Cypriots aren't ready for any sort of solution...

Would agree with you there but go even further, neither side really wants a solution....only a catalyst like the gas/water issue may and I re-emphasis may push us in the direction of a solution as per BBF.

if the status quo has to change many would rather have a agreed partition rather than live under a disfunctional rascist bbf that makes turks masters of the north and partners in the south.
