I mean really, they have to be tremendously stupid to live in a country they hate so much. And if they went there by accident, then why not just move back to Cyprus, Turkey, Albania, or Mongolia where I am sure they will get reconnected back to their roots and find their happiness.

I can assure you my other half is not dumb.

He'd have moved back to Cyprus long ago, when he was a very successful business man. However, a very nasty motorcycle collision, with a car that didn't see him, removed half his leg, smashed the rest with his hands as well...and he lost everything.
He would move to Cyprus and reunite with the rest of his family (he was the only one born outside Cyprus) but we just can't afford to.
