Akinci

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Pyro, I have a lot of respect for you, but your comment:

if you beleive Ankara moves all the strings (like our sorry Gvnt and politicians think) you are not right either.

Is blatantly wrong. Turkey pays, and for as long as she does, the TCs will remain puppets. What the TCs going to do with 40,000 armed Turkish troops there? Setiously. The sooner people realise this the better. We are talking to the wrong people, doesn't matter what mask they wear, Etoglu, Akinci, or whatever.

Cheers

Whose idea was to declare the pseudo in 1983? Wasn't it Denktashe's ? He got the approval from Ankara and proceeded...
Whose idea was to open the gates? Wan't it Serdar's? Rauf opposed. Serdar bypassed Rauf, got the approval from Ankara and proceeded...
Whose idea was it to bypass Denktash during the Anan Plan? wasn't it Talat's? He got the approval from Ankara and proceeded...
Whose idea was to open the Ledra crossing? Wasn't it Talat's? He got the approval from Ankara and proceeded... The Turkish Army wanted it to have a bridge. Talat got approval from Ankara and finally opened it without bridge.

So it's one thing to say Ankara decides for the TCs and another thing the fact that Ankara approves/or disapproves whatever the TCs themselves (rather say their leaders) have already decided on the first place.

S' ygeia

If it were like you think then Ankara would have her own people at the Technical committees where the most important details get agreed. Well, where are they??

A bunch of assumptions Pyro! :)

Turkey had to lift travel restrictions or face enormous restitutions as a result of lawsuits brought against them by GCs which were coming to a close after many years.

The key issue constantly raised against Turkey was “restricted access” to the plaintiff’s home/hometown. (see the famous Loizidou case as an example)

Turkey made the legal manoeuvre in 2004 so as to free itself from being liable of restricting access knowing that nobody would move back and make claims in the occupied territory as it stood.

Everything is calculated and planned by Turkey and you give the TCs too much credit for nothing!

Overall, I find you pretty naïve mate…

File mou, you are missing the point. We cannot be sure the ideas came from the TCs in the first place, but the point is, they HAD TO GET APPROVAL FROM TURKEY. Had they been their own people they would not be seeking such. Turkey is not at the table because she is hiding behind the TCs because she knows full well she is not justified to be there. I suspect she would very much like to be at the table but that would be giving her hand away.

You have heard the saying ' He who pays the piper ...............' Well Turkey pays, Turkey calls the shots, pure and simple. For any real solution we need to cut out the middle man (read TCs) and deal direct.

All the best.

LOL.She opened the gates after TC's uprising threatening they would blow them down themselves. Partial relief from claims based on restricted was just a side effect, not the REASON.
