Racism has existed just as long as man has. It has evolved over millions of years, it is inherent in the vast majority of humans. Progress has made huge strides in combating racism but will never totaly eradicate this human behaviour.

Im however a confirmed and a firm believer in " culturalism" so this undoudedely makes me a " culturalist" in other words I do expressly make distinctions between primitive cultures and western world cultures.

If you've travelled a little, I think you'd find you can insert the name of any place instead of Cyprus and it would be equally true.

Cypriots are racists and what is more they also fall in the other category called WHITE SUPREMACY.

By whose definition? Most white supremacists see Cypriots as 'Colonial Others'. A little study into the British Empire might enlighten you on this point.

I admit, I hear Turkey and darken inside, I see their flag and feel 'That is the enemy', did not yet get over that. I am brainwashed indeed.

That's not racism. It stems from the psychological need to survive. It is fear and it's as natural as fear of snakes for what they can do ... not for what they are.

Overall, I'd say these views appear slightly hypocritical, but that's normal too.

humans are not born with racism, it is nurtured into us first by our parents and then by our educations system. i was lucky my parents were not racist at all. our education is the same on either side of the border. it breeds hatred and racism. having said that tc teachers are far less dogmatic and racist then their tc counterparts. we must try to see through the mist of cypriot condition. recognising your condition is half the solution. you are on the way for being cured from this curse.

This is the fundamental point that needs to be addressed if we are to talk about the "racism" of Cypriots. Cypriots are not "White", but many Cypriots wish they were. They aspire to be part of "White Supremacy" and seek to distance themselves from their non-"Whiteness". In many ways this is natural, after all who wants to be seen as inferior by the hegemonic powers. But it is a false hope. The "White Supremacists" have no desire to admit Cyprus into their club. They use Cyprus in a subtle way as a buffer. In fact this is what they do with the Middle East in general, although less subtly with the likes of Syria or Iraq. Cypriots' "racism" must be understood in this context as a desire to distance themselves from their colonial subjugation. The first step to dealing with the problem is to embrace the reality that we as Cypriots are non-"White", then we can have a realistic discussion about how we engage with the rest of the world.

Overall, I'd say these views appear slightly hypocritical, but that's normal too.

I'd remove the "slightly" part... but I wouldn't want to discourage the young lass from participating.
