No not a war.

China is too important to the USA, and Australia too.

But the USA is organising major Naval Exercises with Australia, Philippines, and Japan in the South China Sea around some islands because China is claiming these small islets as its own when they are not. The islands control major trade routes to Japan.

The USA, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia and Australia will be scheduling daily overflights over these islets. They will threaten us, but it is International Airspace and can't do a thing about it.

China is pushing its luck a bit, but they will never attack our aircraft or ships. They are not stupid!

The most we get is: yu r entewring ar Defents identifikacion zon, pleeze leve imedeiatly!!

The reply is always, "we are a US military aircraft conducting legal military operations in International Airspace".

You have not heard of 2 way debt obviously. China owes Billions in credit to its major trading partners who if they close off trade, China will end up like Greece.
