THE OUTCOME.
Up early this morning, 4 am had breakfast and headed for Bath and the Magistrates court. What an effing waste of time and money!!!!
Of course I pleaded guilty to speeding, doing 69 - this fucking number - on a stretch of motorway with variable speed set at this point at 60 mph.
I pleaded my case to no avail. 3 Magistrates listened attentively as I elaborated on my DCV. 44 Years without once falling foul of the law.
Very politely I was told that this .... dreadful crime carries a mandatory £100 fine and 3 points on my license.
The law is an ass !!! Its about making money, that's all.
I came back on the M4 and noticed how many speed traps exist. You are driving at a steady 70 and suddenly this fucking so called variable speed comes up. They must be making a fucking fortune out of fining drivers.
Milti, I'm sorry to say this but it was a no brainer. They are more or less obliged to fine you and give you 3 points, they have quite rigid guidelines to follow. Your only excuse could have been a medical emergency or the like. You could have saved the three points if you had done the course and your fine could have been offset by the cost of driving to Bath.
