For the record Guy Verhofstadt is NOT German (or a Turk either) and nor are the vast majority of those applauding what he is saying.

That speech was positively commented on by many Greek media too. The guy knows the situation here and speaks as a concerned voice, not as an enemy. I listened to it live on the radio and heard people clapping from the house down the road when he got to the part about the education inspectors being party members.

Indeed and I posted the link only to try and counter the attempts of some here to try and define the narrative as simply being one of "(evil, racist, wannbe dominating) Germans vs everyone else in the EU'.

I see the same potential for Alexis Tsipras to become a true 'great' political reformer for Greece , that you referred to in another post and Guy Verhofstadt does in the speech above and I sincerely hope he can and does, for the sake of Ordinary Greeks and ordinary citizens throughout the EU.

You are the one who is trying to say that it is ALL Greece's fault. The governments of Greece screwed up, yes. But the whole EZ system is problematic and Greece is not the only country which is having problems. Read what Paul Krugman, who is a Nobelist economist, wrote in various articles: http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/

Verhofstadt is also Tsipras' friend, they have known each other for some time.

The EU is not Greece's enemy.
Bureaucracy, oligarchs, the public sector and corruption are Greece and greek people's enemies.
