Yeap, I'm from Limassol, I have moved to Nicosia a few years ago due to work reasons, but although I really like Nicosia, I cannot cut the connections I have in Limassol... (parents, friends, places to go out like Gypsies :) ) Yes, Chesters looks very nice nowadays, if only they had better service and better respect for the old comers.... Me and my friends were probably some of the first customers of that place when it oppened some years ago. I always expected a better respect a more personalised service, but ...nah, who cares! Hence Chesters is not any more the ...local pub for me where you will always find me there as in the old times. But in any way, irrespective of my unhappy I'm with this, I always have a great time in special occasions (Xmas, New Year, Carnival, Beer Festival), Anniversaries as well, since two of my best friends met their wifed there! :)

You like Nicosia better than Limassol?? What have they done to you there??? Did your friends met their wives at the same time? With such a success rate I think we should promote Chesters at the "meet new people" section! :)

Soto, sorry but I prefer Nicosia for Limassol, as there is always something to do even in weekdays, and there are more cossy pubs available... and dont tell me that the bars in the tourist area are good!!! :)

No, my friends did not meet there wives at the same time! Mind you I started going to Chesters about a month after it first opened... at the time when it was really smaller!

I believe so Piratis. In the old days, there were not many pubs to go out. I remember a time that there was nowhere to go out before the club hours and we were bored to hell! :)

I don't know about Nicosia pubs. But a city is not just about pubs. In general Limassol is better ;)

I remember a time that there was nowhere to go out before the club hours and we were bored to hell!

I remember the time we were walking up and down at Enaerios. The glorious days of Fat Boy

Nope, I have lived most of my life in Limassol and quite some years in Nicosia. You have to live in both cities to have a point Soto! :)
And yes I remember Fat Boy.... my first going out as my parents live nearby... Canadiana Pizza... the video games at the back... my first kiss.... my first flirt... my first bitting up by a girl's older brother.... :)

It was everybody's first going out there. The place was packed with teenagers! Then the place died for some years and then the cafes came. I prefer it the way it was before!

This is progress man... and we get older... In the old times I could go out and dance for several hours non-stop... Nowadays I need several breaks in an hour! :) What I really remember from that area in the old times, is the Canadiana... THE place to take out a date when you are in your early teens! :) Nowadays there are too many coffee shops and most, if not all of them, have awful service and coffee quality. I stopped going there a few years ago 'cose of these.
