Don't listen because Netanyahu has not approved any such deal and does not trust Turkey.

He knows that Turkey will close the pipeline as soon as there is any issue and wants the pipeline through Greece.

Besides, Cyprus' gas is for European markets - where it's cold!

More on this massive gas prospect and its poss implications for CY, posted by a friend elsewhere citing ... http://www.pgs.com/Pressroom/News/Cypru ... Discovery/

... which includes these sentences and a map...

"... Cyprus Link to ENI Zohr Discovery

31 Aug 2015
The hydrocarbon bearing intervals of the recent ENI Zohr discovery on Egypt’s Mediterranean Shorouk license probably extend into neighboring Cyprus.
On 30 August, ENI announced the largest gas discovery in the Mediterranean on its Zohr Prospect offshore Egypt. An estimated potential of 30 trillion cubic feet of lean gas is reported to be in place, with a target interval in sub-salt Miocene carbonates, and a possible additional play in the deeper Cretaceous sequence.

Zohr lies just a few kilometers south of the Cypriot border, raising the possibility that the hydrocarbon bearing intervals extend into the Cypriot Block 11 license. ..."

Has anyone figured out the cost of a pipeline from Cyprus to Greece?

The Egypt link is the most practical, that is from the gas field to the land installations. From there to Cyprus it will take LNG carrier ships. Pipelines are notoriously expensive and time consuming projects (LOL!). Ships exist now, and Greek shipowners onw the biggst fleet of LNG carriers, in other words the transfer is in Greek hands.

I think that LNG Transports are the most expensive, whereas pipelines are a one off cost.

Not sure, but oceanic pipelines are not exactly rare around the world.

I think they are still going to do LNG anyway.

I don't know what their criteria is. It could be that Noble will want to get the gas to market quickly, but in any case, it would be that expensive because everyone will have to pitch in - Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, Noble Energy, Delek, and various other companies. It will be a big huge joint project.

Well of course Brother Shesmeno, the EU will be only too happy to rely on ever .dependable Turdiyee to control its gas supply after prob being willing to fund the major part of the cost of a Direct Pipeline to the EU mainland, between member-States, CY and Hellas.
