Dust

I have never seen anything like this before. I have taken a walk of at least two miles every day without fail for more than thirty years ... not today though.

It's a shame to break a habit of so many years, so, advisable or not, I have been for a brisk three-mile walk. It's not quite so bad as it looks once you stride out into it, but I have never seen dust this thick in my eleven years in Cyprus. It is deserted out there - far fewer cars than usual and absolutely no pedestrians.

Nicosia today - daytime! - as seen in the Cyprus Mail. Pretty similar here in Limassol.

Never seen anything like it in my whole life, not even in the Gulf where i lived for a few years.
yesterday at 3 pm everything was fine here in Nicosia then within 2 hours this happened.
There are suspicions as to what really caused it.
It will take them 15 days to analyze what we are actually breathing

Going for walks/jogging in this dust is worst for your health than if you had stayed home smoking cigarettes 
And Tim... are we to believe that in over thirty years you have never been sick enough or the weather was never bad enough to keep you home???

I see this at least once a year in Nicosia and it’s usually yellowish but this time it’s grey.-
