This is an even stupider thread than most that are now put up.

There's not an barely an ideology that at one time or another that hasn't believed itself so right that its followers that haven't at one time or another attacked "non believers" or even so called heretics within the same religion. The earliest example I can think of is Jews killing the number one Christian by insisting that he be nailed to a cross, and then pagans killing other Christians, but I'm sure that before that there were sun worshipers killing moon worshipers and so on.

To argue that a religion is non-peaceful because of a few idiots attack someone of a different religion when millions of the same religion live quite peaceful lives says more about you that about the religion, but if the point were to pressed, the followers of Christianity have probably killed more people on more continents than any other religion.
