A former British ambassador to Syria was interviewed on the BBC's Today radio programme this morning, and he said he thought that 40% of the Syrian population supported Assad.

I too would support Assad if the alternative was a clusterfuck of US/Saudi/Turkey backed rebels fucking my country.

To be more precise, he was talking about the situation before the revolution and civil war.

Iraq should be wrapped up in a few months going by the reports on the ground.

Syria however might go on and on!
