Cyprus’ bargaining power should increase while that of America’s henchmen in the region (Israel, Turkey, Saudis) should decrease with time.

In the future I expect traffic between Latakia and Cyprus to increase dramatically and increased tensions between Russia and Turkey both in the sea off Cyprus and on Turkey’s border.

NATO's regional strategy has thus far been to prop up criminal states like Israel, Turkey and the filthy Saudis while battering their victims including Cyprus, but Russia's permanent presence here is about to change all that!.

It’s out with criminal NATO's regional violations and corruptions and in with Russian Orthodox justice! :)

russia in effect had to ask permission to land in syria and was only given it cause the promised to bomb isil. but you forget the boats have to come via terggy to supply. you will find suddenly terggy will be courted by the yanks and the ruskies.

Nope, the Russian transport planes came via the Caspian sea and through Iraq and Iran.

Russia came with the Syrian government’s permission to fight anti-Syrian terrorists whatever they may be called.

first of all you cannot supply a war with transport planes alone, and secondly the iraqi airspace is under american control.

I have no idea who is in control of Iraq anymore if anyone, but if ISIS can do whatever they like there then I doubt anyone can stop the Russians flying through at 600mph and at 40+ thousand feet!

You heard it here first.

"Russia has launched air strikes in Syria for a second day, saying that Islamic State (IS) had been targeted.
The defence ministry said its jets had destroyed an IS ammunition depot and control centres.
However, the areas reportedly attacked appeared to be held by groups opposed to IS and the Syrian government."

Would any apologist for the Assad regime care to comment on the following?

Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said French prosecutors were opening an investigation into alleged crimes against humanity committed by the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The investigation will focus on a report published last year by three former war crimes prosecutors which accused the Syrian government of systematically torturing and executing about 11,000 detainees since the start of the uprising against Mr Assad's rule in March 2011.

That report was based on the evidence of a defected military police photographer, referred to only as Caesar, who along with others reportedly smuggled about 55,000 graphic digital images of dead detainees out of Syria.

"Faced with these crimes which offend the human conscience, this bureaucracy of horror... it is our responsibility to act against the impunity of these killers," Mr Fabius said.

...indeed, Russian soldiers did not invade Ukraine; it was a peace operation.

Who says they won't? Did you expect a Syria-wide attack in just half a day?

You are saying they will, now? Oh, that's a relief because it seemed strange to find myself agreeing with you.

Russia’s operations have hardly begun and you expect them to cover the entire country in the first day? :?

Their priorities are clearly the opposition closest and most menacing to the Syrian government and that is Nusra, FSA, Al Qaeda, etc.

Have faith in the global leader and the world’s greatest firepower… 8)

Allah Akbar!

I hope you realise you are going against your masters' propaganda line:

I would watch out for Putin's hit men, if I were you.

Not any more than you would care to comment on why France conducted sorties inside Syria without a UN mandate or permission by the Syrian government!

Be careful there Tim, you don’t wanna find yourself drowning with the French in their disgraceful double standards!
