Unfortunately this is only true for the British citizens and they are required to give up the British nationality before they can gain the Cypriot nationality

But I am not British therefore I don't belong to this category

I really appreciate all your advices and help

The law has changed recently which means you are actually able to gain Cypriot citizenship from your mother by descent. Before you can only do it from your father and since your father is Jordanian, that would be a tad difficult.

http://www.dualcitizenship.com/countries/cyprus.html

You need to approach the authorities and tell them that you want to apply for citizenship and provide your mother's birth certificate or other documents proving that she is Cypriot. If they tell you it can't be done, then go to another District Attorney. They give wrong information sometimes and I believe they do it deliberately at times because they are lazy and don't want to work. The Cyprus Public Service is total bullshit and completely fucked up!

If you got no joy, then go to Nicosia and start banging on some doors of politicians.

As a final resort, make an appointment to see these lawyers who specialize in Citizenship matters. It may cost you some money but you will achieve success or at least be told where you stand by someone who won't bullshit you!

Right. Unfortunately you might fall under restrictions (imposed by EU, maybe) which aim to prevent foreign investors using Cyprus as a Tax Haven.

Have you visited an actual Citizens Services Centre?

Actually there are no restrictions.

If you got money you can buy the citizenship. A rich Russian or Chinese investor sometimes has more chance of gaining/buying citizenship than a Cypriot through heritage if their parents never held citizenship that is.

The above legal office also specializes in facilitating citizenship to very wealthy Chinese and Russians who can get the citizenship through investment through what is called the "fast track"

They even have documents in Russian and Chinese.

Ashino, this is the wrong place to seek advice. As Cap said on a different thread,” Lordo’s repressed childhood “, “everyone on this forum is in some degree mentally ill”. Errol66 also agrees with the statement. I do also. The only difference though in my case, is that I am only a visitor in the asylum, in order to see how the patients are doing. No improvement I’m afraid.

What you get here is a lot of rubbish.

So Ashino, Citizenship/nationality is not a simple thing. In order to get it you have to fulfill certain criteria. Get a lawyer. You said that you “did not hire a lawyer because they got confused about it” mmm… Have they perhaps smelled a rat somewhere?
And anyway, what’s wrong with your present citizenship/nationality?

There is nothing wrong with my current nationality, the thing is all my family acquired the Cypriot citizenship because they were born after the Independence Day of Cyprus and they are living in Cyprus and I want to be with them as I am an old disabled widow
I can't apply for residency they said I must work and treated me as an alien as I mentioned before

Can you please guide me to where I can find help? :'(

At the end of the day you need to educate yourself as much as possible on citizenship to help yourself because nobody here that I know of works for the immigration department so here are some links regarding Cyprus citizenship:

http://www.cyprus.gov.cy/portal/portal. ... =0&lang=en
http://www.moi.gov.cy/moi/moi.nsf/All/3 ... 1B00218CAB
http://www.moi.gov.cy/moi/crmd/crmd.nsf ... enDocument

Finally, I'll give you some hints/ideas of alternative routes...

1. Citizenship via deceased husband if Cypriot
2. Citizenship due to extraordinary circumstances
3. Do you qualify for refugee citizenship?
4. Do you qualify for business citizenship?
5. Are you wealthy enough to BUY citizenship? That’s possible too via investment.

Since you are disabled and your children have the Cypriot citizenship and they live in Cyprus then you should at the very least be able to get a residence permit (pink slip) if you can show that you are dependent on your children. When you say that you are disabled, is your disability something obvious (are you on a wheel chair?)... because 57 years is really not that old and you will have to prove that you are disabled in order to be considered a dependent.
