A dreadful mistake by Turkey in shooting down the Russian jet.
Already repercussions are surfacing with Russia imposing severe restrictions on Turkish imports into Russia whilst advising its people not to visit Russia, over 4 million Russians visit Turkey annually .
" For many years, millions of Russian tourists have been the primary source of tourism revenue for Turkey. In 2014 alone, 4.48 million Russian tourists visited Turkey, bringing in revenue of nearly $4 billion, official figures showed. Turkey hosts some 40 million tourists who generate $34.3 billion in revenue every year."

" Russia raiding Turkish firms and sending imports back "
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/11/r ... 50172.html

Turkey's exports to Russia amounted to
$5.9 billion or 3.8% of its overall exports.

1. Vehicles: $646.8 million
2. Fruits, nuts: $622.9 million
3. Machines, engines, pumps: $577.9 million
4. Vegetables: $385 million
5. Electronic equipment: $329.7 million
6. Plastics: $307.4 million
7. Knitted or crocheted fabric: $230.6 million
8. Manmade filaments: $177.7 million
9. Knit or crochet clothing: $147.7 million
10. Iron or steel products: $136.9 million

A restriction on imports or even a total ban of Turkish imports would have serious economic affects on Turkish industry.

Was it worth it for a 10 or so second incursion, according to Turkey.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I´d like you to observe how once again you are trying to push the blame to someone else.

It was not a mistake at all.

It was a timely reminder to Pootin to pull his head in. It was completely sanctioned and endorsed by the coalition and at the end of the day America will just cover the economic impact by swinging a few extra F-35s

You're dreaming to think Turkey won't get a backhander and that it's actions didn't go through the Pentagon.

Turkey gets more than half of its natural gas from Russian and only has the capacity to store about fourteen days' supply. If Russia really wanted to hurt Turkey, it would cut off the natural gas. It doesn't. Turkey needs the energy, Russia needs the money. Instead, some cosmetic sanctions amounting to about three percent of Turkey's exports.

I see your concurring with the forum's idiot !

By the way, how do you know that the coalition endorsed Turkeys actions. You obviously are privy to a ...hot line with Pentagon.
I wonder if the coalition also shares your view that WW3 is not so bad!!
You have a lot to learn boy.

Is that so? You have a lot of history of losing the plot and posting without thinking.

Think before you post. If Russia does something drastic, NATO has to interfere and there is NO way the Americans or Europeans will allow Turkey free reign when potentially they have to go to Turkey's rescue.

All you have is a few cosmetic tourism embargoes which mean nothing because Russians will still visit anyway.

The whole thing was a message from Pentagon. It was clever and a legal proxy strike under the Turkish Flag.
