I've been looking at Trump for a while. At first, I thought he was crazy!

Now I think he is very intelligent and has this licked. Look at his business acumen and success.

He is no politician and he knows how to create controversy and manipulate the media. He is politically incorrect.

And funny enough that is what the people want. They don't want the Washington establishment, or a politician and people are fed up with political correctness. Sometimes people just want to say what they want. The USA has a Bill of Rights which protects it but the PC Brigade want to unravel it so as to not upset the easily offended.

I for one am willing to accept Trump but I have concerns. His indication of admiration for Pootin is a concern. I am willing however to give him the benefit of significant doubt!

I don't believe for one second that Trump is a racist or a misogynist. Probably around half of his employees are women, and he probably employs hundreds of Blacks, and others of various ethnicities and religious creeds including American Muslims.

I would prefer Romney though, because Trump might be a risk which may pay off for America and it may not.

I am buying less and less into the idea of the US and Russia being in a stand-off. I am becoming more and more convinced that a backroom deal was done by the US with Putin. It has all gone so smoothly in Syria. The peace fire is holding quite well and now out of the blue the Russians calmly announce that they are leaving having accomplished their goals. Putin badly needed a foreign victory to bolster up his position domestically, and he needed to improve his international image, too. It is almost as though he was gifted this opportunity in Syria. Perhaps he was.

Do you know what? I don't thinks it's basically about Syria. It's about China. With China moving ever closer to becoming the dominant world power, I think they have seen that only a block consisting of the US and its satellites (Europe and Turkey) plus Russia and its satellites (Iran and so indirectly Iraq and Syria) has any chance of standing up against China and preventing it from attaining total global domination.

A purely speculative hypothesis. We will see.

Me too Tim! There is a back room deal of some kind.

It may involve China and the South China Sea, or North Korea, and Syria. I think Pootin will get what he wants in the end but that will also come at a price.

We will know soon enough after some time has elapsed to allow Russia and the USA to cover their tracks.

Assad is a little expendable pawn when it comes to their plans. That is what people on this forum do not understand. Russia does not have allies. They only have interests. The Americans have interests too. But the difference is that they have allies.

Pootin would smash Cyprus even for its interests. They will say to our face that they are our ally and willing to help. But in 74, Cyprus was only a means to an end. They wanted to start a war between Greece and Turkey to undermine NATO and they were using Cyprus to set the scene for this to occur. Cunning and yet very sobering just so that my compatriots know exactly where they stand which is no where for Russia or America to really give a damn over their own interests.

If either Hillary or Trump win, I will be ok with it. I have come to appreciate Trumps cunningness and intelligent.
