I think I may be able to answer your question regarding the intention of the creator and the allowances given to his creation.

A wise old man [my Father] offered an explanation when I asked him precisely the same question that you have posed, it is one that has to be thought about and, if considered in the correct frame of mind [and accepted as a probability] makes perfect sense.

"Imagine that the Good Lord is a shepherd and WE [his creation] are his sheep, whereas we may all look the same, we each have our own characters and act in accordance with our own moods/desires etc, sometimes to the dismay of others.

Some sheep are of a different colour BUT, all in all we are still sheep.

By our own misconduct, misjudgment, mismanagement we sometimes find ourselves in serious dispute and may even take the life of those that offend us, we may [through our own carelessness] neglect our health or develop unhealthy habits which result in our own destruction.

What does it matter to the Good Lord ?., he gave us life and possesses our souls, therefore, dead or alive, we still belong to him.

I personally think that such an explanation is quite good.., to a sceptic it should be acceptable and to a devout follower of ANY faith, it offers some kind of comfort to know that the Good Lord had a plan when he created us all.

You are absolutely right cobber and there is a biblical passage {Old Testament] which confirms it.

When Moses delivered the Jews from bondage and journeyed from Egypt, he praised the Almighty and said:-

"Who is like unto thee Oh Lord ?, with our Sheep and our Goats we will go" [plus many other supplications of course].

Therefore your observation is in order, some are Sheep and some are Goats but they ALL belong to the Almighty.

In a civilized society each and every human is at liberty to believe in a creator, to belong to whoever faith he or she choses
and to respect everyone's right to believe in what ever one wishes to believe without let or hindrance . Also a non beliver has the absolute right to express views on religion without fear of intimidation or even death.

Close members of my family are believers, they are also aware of my views and do not show animosity towards my self and neither do I towards them.

Im convince beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no creator, I also believe that sciences age of the earth and man's time on earth.

Was religion practised 10, 20, 30 or 100 thousand and more years ago. Of course it was. The Arabs had in fact 365 gods, one per day. The rivers, the moon, the sun even cows were considered godly.

Those who believe must allow those that do not th freely make their own choice without fear and intimidation.

Yes, isn't it terrible that those who feel oppressed by Western policymakers, consider themselves justified in retaliating in such fashion ?.

There can be no doubt that the actions they take are the result of conscious decisions made by those who are their leaders, just as the Western pilots who [initially] acted upon the conscious decisions made by those who led them when they bombed Iraq.

Doubtless, had the said Western leaders anticipated the repercussions we are now witnessing, [savagery v savagery] perhaps they might have embarked upon an entirely different campaign in order to depose Saddam Hussein [who incidentally DID predict that the attack upon his nation would develop into "The Mother of ALL battles"] who was proven to be innocent of the charges laid against him, hanged for those false charges .....murdered by the West.

A clear case of disturbing a "Hornet's Nest" without realizing just how ferocious and uncontrollable "Hornets" can be when goaded into situations where only their combined [and united] retaliatory actions [be they what they may] might resolve the problem and put an end to the meddlesome troublemakers that disturbed their peaceful nest.
