Does True Friendship really exist today

Postby Paphitis » Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:57 pm

Most of you would say yes! And I have no doubt you all have your "friends"

But what is your definition of real friendship? What does it mean to you?

Is it someone you just have drinks with and watch a soccer match or something more?

That's a good question. :D

A very old girlfriend with a sharp tongue in the states would often say, which I have few times quoted her here on the forum in the past, and that was, "if you can't fuck a friend, who can you fuck"!

Well, she didn't mean it in a sexual way per se.

I think what she meant was, that nothing lasts forever, and soon or later, even friends "fuck" each other in many different ways since one is more likely to have more contact with their friends than strangers. It can be about money, jealousy, screwing their wife/husband and so on.

Make love, you know there is such a thing as tantric sex. It doesn't interest me, it's a form of fighting. They say you should not fight women, it's a patriarchal idea. Do you agree?

I KNOW the meaning of TRUE friendship, my life has very often depended upon it and only those who have experienced it [or possess it] will understand that it is beyond description.

It lives in the soul and remains there till the day you die., thereafter, it is a fond memory to those left behind.{Old School perhaps ?]. 8)

True, we've all been fucked by so called "friends" But that means they are not really our friends after all.

True friends last a life time. And believe me, I don't have many at all. Because true friends are so hard to find.

As they say, most of us will count them on one hand. Some won't ever have a real friend.

Maybe ‘Old School’ but very true.

Like you we have many acquaintances but only a couple of true friends. A true friend is always there no matter what and vice versa.

A true friend is always there, but she wants to fuck me.

Yes it's true. We all have those we have called friends but only a select very few will ever become True Friends.

Often True Friendships develop under extreme circumstances and conditions like those you mention. Other times it is when huge mountains are conquered. It's an interesting concept, since so few ever conquer that mountain with others, then so few are exposed to the conditions where these life lasting friendships are formed.

Yes so many acquaintances but so few friends.

Feel sorry for young people today because they seem to be losing the true definition and so many will be lonely as a result. Social Media has taken over everyone's lives too. The information age has its draw backs. Also the corporate world and competition brings about the skulduggery mentioned by Kikapu.
