who cares. in girne before 1974 there was 5000 gcs now we have 50,000 tcs. time has moved on. there is no going back. gcs will have the limasol larnaca and baf tc properties. trust me gcs will end up paying the difference.

what is this straight line business. what we need is a line that will maximise gc properties in the south and tc properties in the north to minimise compensation. we are not drawing triangles or squares so no need for straight lines.

Since 2004 and till more recently ANkara has demanded that if there is a solution the border between the two states be a straight as possible ,easier to defend and monitor.

thankfully it is not Ankara that is at the negotiations. We want no borders to defend. We shall have zones where people will be able to cross at will with no control what so ever, life will be normalised once and for all

With so many illegals, turks and others, that's not possible. personally I'd rather see a 12 ft wall!!! We should take a leaf from Israel's book.

i live in a federation people cross freely from state to state but there is still a border mostly for police surveillance and cross border infringements for taxes there are no checkpoints.the map posted is what a 27%north(as you stated)and a straight line (as anakra wants)would look like

of course there will be state lines for tax purposes but there will be no check points, there we agree. what ankara wants can want what she likes. akinci is at the talks and he told erdogan he is a big boy now and can handle his own affairs. erdgogan blew his gasket for a while but got used to it. he even climbed down from his demands regarding water. ankara will do as america tells her to do.
