And, this marriage has lasted ..... :P

My honeymoon was scheduled for Rome but we missed the plane and my wife was crying as we drove back! I kid you not.

Your are such a... plonker! At least it didn't take much for her to realize what a huge mistake was marrying you!

Well, we “missed the plane” because I was used to Australian airports where you could go half an hour before departure and they would *still* let you board but Cyprus Airways was using those shitty mobile staircases at the time and they had already moved it to another plane so they couldn’t be bothered shifting it back to accommodate us.

I ended up lodging a complaint with consumer affairs (ministry of commerce) and got ¾ of my money back.

Best airports on the planet mate! Efficient and modern.

When you travel around the world, it doesn't take long to understand the Australia is the best country in the world! :D

Anyway, once it gets to that level and stairs are pulled away, doors are closed its the captain's call. And because the Captain already has the Manifest and the Trim Sheet has been loaded, there is no way he is gonna let you on, because they will need new paperwork and by that time, all the V Speeds have been briefed and they are not gonna be doing that again. It's bad breaking the flow. If they did, they have just wasted 25 minutes and have to start from the top. So no, it isn't quite as simple as getting the stairs back.

You are lucky you got some of your money back. Could have easily told you to get stuffed. But we are talking about Cyprus Airways that went bust!
