Ukraine’s song was a load of rubbish that should not have qualified let alone win. I find it hard to believe that most Europeans voted for that ugly cow with a miserable voice moaning about Crimea of the 40s!

There’s more to this story than meets the eye…

As for the Australians, in time they’re gonna learn the hard way that they don’t belong in European political games.

They should rename this "contest" to Tunnelvision.

I agree that the clear winner for the night was Australia by a long shot. But the voters didn't go for it I think because they didn't want Australia to win.

Thankfully, Ukraine won and beat Russia.

1. Ukraine
2. Australia
3. Russia

If Australia had won, Australia would have hosted in partnership with Germany.

Next year, the USA is tipped to participate along with Australia. Apparently, a Gay Lifestyle channel has won the rights to televise the event in USA (not joking)

Ukraine is a great political winner. Pootin not happy!

I think Australia would be rejoicing that Russia didn't win, so we like playing political games ourselves and shirtfront the Russians wherever and whenever we can! It's great fun!

Great song selection by Ukraine, and great to see Europe stick it up the Russians! 8)

I really don't care if they were NAZI supporting. It still doesn't warrant their deportation to Death camps.

great political message was sent to Pootin which is as valid today as in 1944.

During WW2, NAZI soldiers would fear the Australian Army. There was a reason for that. About a third of Australian Soldiers were descendants of the German Royalist from Prussia who were persecuted. Who btw, still revere the Greek Monarch Constantine who was invited to cut the ribbon of a German Lutheran Private School in Adelaide.

Any NAZI Soldier captured by Australia was executed by firing squad. So the NAZIs were hellbent never to surrender to Australian Troops. They would prefer to surrender to the Americans or Brits but not Russians or Australians. But it is still a War Crime. Thankfully, we won the war.

The only other country to execute Germans on capture was Russia. Still a War Crime by them who were even a lot worse.

Eurovision is not my cup of tea as by and large the music is not of the sort I enjoy, which is Jazz, modern Europenan music derived from Jazz and Classics often called Jazz.. or "classic Rock" or "Classics". For Modern "Pop" which Eurovision So oten exemplifies I usually find the songs a bit boring.. Of all the entries Cyprus and Georgia to me were the best I saw. Good muscians demonstrating good musicianship, which was not teliant on gross overproduction . They should have done better. The UK entry thouroughly deserved its place... It was all I dislike about modern popular music.

I am just glad there was no Rap, which I am told is an acronym for 'Rythmn and Poetry'. I prefer to think if it as 'Contemporary Rythmn and Poetry'.

Paphitis ...... Wasn’t Rolf Harris one of yours? He sang songs about little boys, tying kangaroos down and tickling them with his didgeridoo. Now serving time for putting it all into practice!

Aussies may be good at singing , female impersonators and touching up little boys but their geographic comprehension is terrible! Since when has Australia been part of Europe? Why not have your own Australasian Song Contest?

Modern pop "music" is rubbish, it's tuneless crap. If you can't whistle it then it isn't a tune. They won't be playing today's excuse for popular music in 40 - 50 years time like we play the "oldies" today. :D

No he's definitely one of yours.

He was probably a convict sent to Australia, and has arrived back home where he belongs. The Queen seems to love him too. Pedophiles don't last long within our prisons so he can be thankful that he's in the UK among the pussy whipped and spineless Brits so eager to please everyone and preach gender fluidity.

Well obviously the money talks and bullshit works. it''s about TV Rights and they want to expand the "competition" outside of Europe hence Australia and USA with more to follow.

I am so happy Ukraine won.

Just admit though...

Australia was the number 1 song as voted by the actual expert juries. It is the de-facto winner and it would have one if it was under someone else's flag. For instance, if the Australian song was representing Cyprus or another Euro country, it would have won hands down.

But the most fitting winner of all, is Ukraine. Bloody brilliant! Very worthwhile.

I don't think the Aussies will get too upset over that little gem!
