It seems there are many wannabe Cypriots here. The real Cypriots are Greek and therefore they can read and understand what "Αθλητικός Ποδοσφαιρικός Όμιλος Ελλήνων Λευκωσίας" means. They can also read and understand our national anthem:

What Cypriots wanted and what we fought for was for union with the rest of Greece because Cyprus is a Greek island like every other Greek island. The national anthem was one of the few things that were not imposed by the British and the Turks but we choose it ourselves because we are Greek. Either you are not a Cypriot at all, or you are a traitor who sides with the British and the Turks against us.

Here’s the story as best as I have understood it from your descriptions over the years:

1. Over a thousand years ago, a bunch of imaginary Greeks somehow came to Cyprus. (<-- via Qantas airlines or Helios?)

2. They found a vacant island so they painted it blue & white. (<-- What about Cypriot fauna and flora or did they have to bring their own Greek goats?)

3. Over a millennium later, you were born and somehow automatically inherited all their charms! (<-- IQ included?)
