I’ve always found in my studies that eunuchs are associated with penis castration whether voluntary or forced.

Now, if you can refer to a transgender or some other type of abnormal sexual makeup, as a “eunuch” then that’s news to me!

If you care to do a little research you will, or maybe not, find that in ancient times homosexuals were commonly referred to as eunuchs. This however is a minor point, I suggest you spend a little time and carefully and without any preconceived notions whatsoever, using logic ask your self this. If the bible was written men inspired by this imaginary god, all loving, caring and compassionate would it include so much cruelty and killings. Remember Abraham being asked to kill his ONLY son ? Was this really necessary, was it necessary to kill all the first born Egyptian children so that ONE man would be forced to change his mind? Was it necessary to turn rivers into blood ? Cover the entire nation in locusts, part the sea and then bring it back again and drown each and every Egyptian soldier. Can you not see that a creator of such complexities as the human being, all other life, the universe, the sun the moon and stars would consider such vile acts as necessary just to make one of HIS creations change his mind. Would this imaginary god create an angel, Lucifer, then allow this creation of his to become the devil. Come on, you are not that stupid to fall for this grand deception or are you.

Indeed we have… Man reasoned (<-- well those that could) that something very special must be responsible for the existence of the universe. And how right Man is…

You've check-mated yourself. :)

At long last !! You accept that Man invented God!

Yup, we took the letters G, O, and D and put them together to form a label so as to identify the very special entity that is responsible for the universe!

Amen to that!

This 'special entity' that is responsible for the universe, can it be a physical force?

If so, then it is detached from anything to do with how we live our lives.

Physical forces dictate how the universe functions and Man dictates how morality functions. Two unrelated functions.

I haven’t seen any evidence of this and research is not exactly your forte so I guess we’re stuck with this.

There’s no way that child would’ve been killed because God would’ve either stopped the sacrifice in the nick of time as happened according to the bible, or Abraham would’ve disobeyed thus failing his loyalty test but sparing the kid’s life… so either way the child would’ve been spared!

Well considering that young children make it straight to heaven upon death then taking them away may not have been such a bad idea for them, but no doubt the parents would've suffered... <-- I think God's intended target for punishment.

Look, I can't be his spokesperson as to why they turned red and not green or why locusts and not candy... we read that in those days God had DIRECT communication with certain individuals yet he was still sometimes disobeyed so I suppose he would get pissed off.

I don’t know and I doubt anyone knows… all one can do is admire what it is capable of.

The laws of the universe which you refer to as “physical forces” must be part of the designer’s work.

After all, the Bible is full of people getting stoned...

...that's what "burnt offerings" means... in ancient times, this meant gathering to smoke hashish, opium, and marijuana. Talk about having fellowship.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Jokes/comments ... marijuana/

The Pharaohs grew hemp for many reasons, there are no ropes stronger against rot, but some was grown only for them, forbidden to any other;

after shaving themselves hairless, they'd run naked in those fields for the pollen which was smoked as hashish, having scraped it from their bodies...

...other facts curious and funny, as we are in the jokes section talking politics, (gods,) and religion.

With regards to the Sabbath, the bone of contention among academics is which day it is… Saturday or Sunday? But you’re more concerned about stupid things. :?

What would happen if we get down on our knees and pray to God in this way:
Dear God, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, we pray to you to cure every case of cancer on this planet tonight. We pray in faith, knowing you will bless us as you describe in Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. We pray sincerely, knowing that when God answers this completely heartfelt, unselfish, non-materialistic prayer, it will glorify God and help millions of people in remarkable ways.

Will anything happen? No. Of course not.

If the Bible is literally true, then something is seriously amiss. Simply look at the facts. In Matthew 7:7 Jesus says:
Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Of course we know that our prayers can not be answered by an imaginary God. I know, I prayed, I cried, I asked, I begged, 63 years ago, believing that my God would answer my prayers, believing that my dead mother would open her eyes and speak to me.....

Well I don’t approach God in the ecclesiastical way so you won’t find me praying, going to church, or doing any of the other things that your typical devout Christians do.

However, I acknowledge God’s supremacy often, I admire his work all the time, and I prevent myself from doing stupid things that might compromise his opinion of me.

Here are some points to consider why prayers are not answered:

The unrepented may only make ONE prayer and that is to repent and accept God in their life. It’s pointless for such a person to ask for anything else… he will not be heard according to the bible.

The other problem is that God would never raise someone from the dead just because you asked for it even if you were a repented person.

And finally, getting one’s prayers answered seems to contradict with God’s promise of not interfering for 6(?) millenniums with mankind.

GR, may I ask you, have you read and studied the bible ? Have you ever taken the time to read the Bible's story of Noah's flood?
If you did you will find just as I did that God senselessly murdered millions of humans and billions of animals in the flood.

Its in the bible mate, read it.
Noah's flood is not the only place where God displays these horrific tendencies toward mindless slaughter. There are several other examples, search and you will find them. Just take a look at this.

Isaiah chapter 13, God paints this word picture:
Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children.
Is this the loving god or an imaginary fairy tale.
