Is that a hypothetical situation you are describing, or is it anybody we know?

With reference to the comparisons with the Queen of England, a Turkish satirical magazine, that in the meantime has closed, showed Erdoğan dressing up as the Queen of England on one of its recent front covers:

You reckon! It might be illegal (not sure) but it exists even now. Cap would know it. It was an imposing building always with 3 to 4 bouncers at the front, a white limousine, and its driver smoking fags. Lots of lights and they had Casino at the front so they were not hiding either.

Yeh 50 slots and tables too as well as poker on a mezzanine level.

100 Euro for the taking. Are you in?

And they were Russian. At least the guys that were hanging with me. Also the young lady bar tender was also Russian. I was talking with them for hours. Also, very thick da accents.

And on top of it, I was under the impression in no uncertain terms either, that these guys were not to be messed with. Drinking their alcohol for free is no problem as they insisted but I wouldn't be disrespectful or anything. Unless you got a death wish and want to suicide.

If you were no threat to them, they would be no threat to you so to speak.

Now these businesses are always in the fringes of legality. And in Cyprus you can do anything you like because your police probably leave them alone and don't enforce the law because they are Orthodoxi with icons in the Casino and so on.

Therefore, good Orthodoxi can't be Crimes.

And what the he'll is it with Mafioso and Church anyway. The familia were good Catholic boys too.

First of all there is NO Digeni Akrita Avenue in Paphos.
There's only one small street with that name at the North of Paphos far away from the hotels and other tourist places.
The "da" word is very common among the ex Soviet block, doesn't confirm they were indeed Russians. Besides everyone from those ex USSR countries speaks Russian. The Pontians for example speak Russian, Turkish and Greek!!

When was it that you visited that place?? Before we entered the EU in 2004 or after?

She was an expanding empire under the Tsars and later under Stalin. Some of The Edges of the empire dropped away with the collapse of communism in the late 80's and early 90's but Putin wants them back, where in my view he has as much right as Erdogun does to rebuild the Ottoman Empire, as he is widely alleged to be attempting.

One must remember Putin has a reputation as a ruthless ductator. The relative freedoms we have to be critical only exist to the same extent in theory in Russia...he has suppressed the independant Press and other organisations that may be critical, and critics get murdered. He has levered business deals so that some have been forced to sell out to cronies.

Indeed under Putin there are probably fewer people controlling more of the wealth than under the Tsars, and if the stories are true, the biggest wealth holder of them all is Putin.

WTF is a ductator .

Allegations ...... alleged ...... suggested ....... using an alias ...... believed to be ........ yes, it seems to have all the hallmarks of a greatly exaggerated and fabricated accusation based on very little evidence showing it had anything to do with Russia or Putin.

"Agence France-Presse and Reuters contributed to this report " in other words a syndicated article ......... Nuff said!!!
