Just browsing the web today, trying to take my mind off a grey & miserable UK January by thinking forward to Cyprus holiday in late summer.
Came upon references to a tourist submarine that used to operate out of Larnaca, but no info dated after 2002. Is it still operational? |

| As far as I remember it was still in operation after 2002 but unfortunately I have no up-to-date info. Maybe its only their website that hasn't been taken care off? |

There is an outdated website http://www.sadkosub.com/
however, I found the phone numbers which you can call and ask for the details: +357 24 637667
Most probaly excursions are organized only during summer period. |

I believe it is still operating.
It is a Russian submarine and they take tourists to the wreck of the Zenobia, a 10,000 tonne car ferry that sank on its maiden voyage in Larnaca harbour. I saw it many times when I was diving on the Zenbia in 2003 but I didn’t go at all last year.
Zenobia is home to a wide selection of marine life and they have a very attractive female diver that feeds the fish when the submarine is down. |

| It still operates 'cause there was some ad articles in local newspaper this summer about the submarine. Although about a month ago I was at the port and the advert about this submarine was still there. But I don't think there're a lot of people in this time of the year so if it works now - maybe you need to arrange the place in advance. Call them. |

The sub was still operating during 2005.
My son and his friends regulary dive on the Zenobia and have to keep a wary eye open for the sub
A couple of years ago they were amazed to see an access door flapping around as the sub passed close by
OK so it was'nt a water tight door but it did make them wonder about safety |

Many thanks for the helpful replies. Looks as if the answer is to wait until later in the year & give them a ring.
Certainly won't mention it to 'er indoors yet, as I don't want to raise her hopes.
Once again, many thanks. |
