A quick voxpop question to all my GC friends. What would be the popular reaction if Tassos says "yes" to Turkey at the European Council in December? By doing so, would he lose the support he gained from his advocacy of a "no" in the referendum? |

| I think tassos will say yes because the powers to be in the E.U will tell him thats what they want. |

I expect Tassos to say yes but be assuered that after October 6th he will be fighting to get something for Cyprus before the final decision by heads of state in Decemebr.
In addition, Turkey is obliged to negotiate with Cyprus' EU representitives on the 30+ chapters that will constitute the accession treaty for Turkey. Each one requires unanimity by all member states before it can go through. That means Cyprus has plenty of leverage even if Tassos says yes in December.
In fact if the EU said no in Decemebr then that is when things will get tricky and unpredictable for Cyprus. |

| mikkie well put and very true and as you stated i also think turkey will have to recognise the R.O.C if it truely wants in with the E.U and this would have nothing to do with cyprus or tassos its the rules of the E.U which turkey will have to get used to. |
