Embargoe on Turkish Cypriots

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby -mikkie2- » Sat Oct 09, 2004 2:07 am

GET REAL!

This is NOT just a question of legality. IT IS A QUESTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS! It is a question of peoples ancestral homes which were forcefully taken away from them.

As long as the mentality of the Turks is "what is yours is ours and what is ours is ours" then we will not go forward.

If the simple fundamental facts can't grasped and understood then how can ayone negotiate with that kind of mentality?

Mikkie

You said:

The 'state' in the north is illegal, it is not recognised by anyone other than Turkey. Thye whole system in the north is based on the theft of Greek Cypriot land. You talk about the rule of law in the north. WHAT RULE OF LAW?

I responded to that and you then you said: it is not a question of legality.

You have confused me - is it. or is it not legality we are talking about?

I said it is not just a question of legality. It is also a question of human rights as well. But since to you the refugees don't have any rights then its pointless discussing the subject!

MIKKIE AND ISKAMET

SHAME ON YOU BOTH .

You are both right and wrong at the same time, everyones view is different and must be respected, mikkie calling one thieves is not necessary, what is yours is yours, but you must remember life did not stop after the war and when unification comes this will all be resolved to hopefully everyones liking but creating this air of tension un called for.

So try and be constructive in your chats and tell us what solutions could be applied not what the problems are and labeling people as that does noone any favours.
