| But surely Greece was offered Cyprus by the British in 1915? |

| Say the British were never in Cyprus though, it would have remained part of the Ottoman empire until its collapse, would it have become involved in the "population exchange"? Turkey certainly had ambitions for Cyprus at the time and Mustafa Kemal was quoted as saying that the time for Cyprus is yet to come, or something along those lines. |
