looking for good, 2nd hand, genuine DVDs on UK classics

Postby pumpernickle » Wed Feb 15, 2006 8:15 pm

anyone selling DVDs of TV progs like:

The Professionals, The Sweeney, Minder, Kojak, Steptoe and Son et al

Anything 1960s - 1980s of this retro, British variety?

Are expensive online and non existent in Cyp shops, so hoping that Cyp based ex pats have some in their collections they are considering selling to an enthsiast and lover of such past classics.

Need some flavour of the homeland!

regards.

p.s. I hope this doesn't happen, but I'm not looking for pirates or didgy sharks trying to sell me bent copies of Gladiator or anything like that, this is a genuine post for legal items.

Amazon.co.uk has a fantastic range for nostalgic Brits!

Amazon.co.ru has a great range of DVDs featuring the many failed 'Five Year Plans' for wheat production LOL!

Try www.Play.com cheaper than amazon and have great clearances. You'll have to use the international site for Cyprus. Recently brough the A Team, Miami Vice, Blackadder. :)

Have a look in Acapela in the town centre. Where all the DVDs are on the right, walk past them to the far end of the shop. On the last rack, there are alot of nostalgic DVDs for sale there. Maybe there's something there for you. They can also order for you if they haven't got in stock.

You can also try Play just around the corner of it, but don't bother ordering from there. I ordered some DVDs from them 3 months ago and I'm still waiting (though I have since bought them from Acapella).
