No offence, but from what I have seen the majority of Cypriots (male and female) take themselves far too seriously. They walk around with their faces like smacked arses and NEVER seem to have a laugh about anything.
Again, I will wager that everybody will disagree and have a pop at me for saying this, but it is the truth (something a lot of members seem to want to hide from when it comes to the downside of Cyprus life). |
Actually I totally agree with you..... In my eyes the full bred Cypriots worry way too much on what others think about them. As an example, go to a "trendy" cafe and look around. You will see groups of guys / gals sitting at a table, with their phones out. Now...none of these people will be talking to each other...instead they just look around and wait for their phones to ring.
At a club, you will never see a Cypriot exerting themselves on the dancefloor.... instead they do these wanky little moves, trying their best not to break a sweat, but look "cool" at the same time.
On a more personal note, some Cypriots have labeled me as immature, simply because I am 25 and still enjoy going skating, throwing water balloons, eating peanut butter, etc.... Do I care? No? F*ck what anyone else thinks about me.... Maybe when these people move out of home and start living of their own money, then and only then their opinion may be worth something.

As for having to work at being accepted into somebody's family - no way should anybody have to actually work at this.........for the crime of being from the UK and daring to want to marry a Cypriot? It is a disgrace and very racist that you people actually put up with this nonesense!
Do Greeks have to "work" at being accepted into a UK family? NO! Why? We are now in the year 2005 and that sort of bullsh*t died out years ago. Another little problemo with Cyprus, dragging their heels about coming out of the dark ages! ). |
Well put mate!...... |
