Meze & live traditional music

Postby philiptzora » Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:47 am

Four of us will be visiting Cyrpus again later this month.

We would like to have an evening out with traditional MEZE and live music.

Since we will have a rented car we can travel to the recomended place.

We would like to a place were locals go to.

Thanks for help

Black Turtle at Larnaca is excellent at weekends, not far from St. Lazarus Church. The Bouziki and dancing makes an excellent night out.

nope, no music in Sunrise, but in the same village is the Kokos Tavern which has a very nice athmosphere and great food; plus live music on Saturdays (I think).

Try the restaurant at Ayia Anna. It's about 15mins from Larnaca. The meze is wonderful .... way too much food and choice. On Fridays and Saturdays they have traditional music and the dancing is done between the tables. The atmosphere is much better than the larger venues in Larnaca which tend to have better music and dancing but poorer quality food. I'd rather have a good meal than a good dance!
