Weather

Just to clear something up for me  Am I going crazy, or do I see rain forcasts on the 14 days weather forcast for Paphos? :?

They mixed England's forcast up with Cyprus right?

Hehe, no really, I know it rains in Cyprus. When did it last rain in Cyprus? And is there really rain forcast this week, or maybe still too early for rainfall. I only ever visit Cyprus in summer, I'd love to visit in Winter time

In Limassol it rained about 10 days ago for about 1-2 hours. But I am sure we will have some rainy days in the next 14 days.

This seems like a dry year. Some years we have quite a bit of rain in winter, and other years we don't.

Some years ago we had a problem with water and thats why plants were built to take water from the sea. But the last couple of years it rained a lot. Last year all dams overflowed. Maybe from this year a new dry era will begin, maybe not :)

England had an incredibly wet and warm summer this year, and the rain is very slow as we move into winter. It hasn't rained significantly since mid-October in England. Maybe 1 or 2 hours of 'drizzle' some nights, but that's all

I can't imagine Cyprus being anything but hot and sunny since I always visit in July/August

Well, it can get cold and rainy (but never as rainy as the UK). It can go as low as 5 degrees on the shore, and on the mountain it can make 1-2 meters of snow :)

Wow! :D

We don't get much snow in England. Much like Cyprus' rain, some years we get lots of snow, some years - none at all! Especially in the North-East, it's too mild for snow. Maybe 1-2 days per year

I'll be in Cyprus in 2006, probably in Paphos, but not sure yet :?

We are visiting Cyprus 20th November for one week to check out a few places and people as we are hoping to move there when we sell our house ( ) - PLEASE tell me the weather is good most of the time - we want to get away from the cold and wet!!

From what I've gathered, having visited 5 times now, the summer is generally flawless, with wall to wall sunshine every day, temperatures somewhere in the 30's with high to extreme UV levels. Winter seems changable, but I'd say it's likely to be warm and wet most of the time, with some cool days 8)

A Cypriot will be able to improve this definition, probably

Well, it is good most of the time, but if we got no rain to fill the dams, the place and the people would get parched.

Today, where I am, we got one helluva thunderstorm (occasional ones are normal at this time of year), but the sun was shining again one hour afterwards :)

But January and February do need heating and warm clothing, so don't think you are going to a tropical paradise, if such exists.

Don't be afraid of hot weather in the summer, either. It is quite normal to well nudge the 40°s in the first half of August; it even got to 47°C three years ago, but that is really exceptional, until some more climate change kicks in. :(

Meh, England is under-rated. It's never cold in summer, always warm or hot. It's wet, sure, so is the Amazon Rainforest
