More tourism this year?

Postby ecpersonals » Tue May 23, 2006 2:11 pm

With all the ads on tv for Cyprus in particular on Euronews and CNN in the UK and Germany, do you think tourism will be higher this year? I have a feeling it will be.

I also hope the limassol beaches are cleaner, every summer i really hate the state of dasoudi beach in particular. Magically it cleans up once the schools open in September

I have been in Ayia Napa the last two days during the day and I have to admit that it is getting busier and busier...

This year there will be more tourism. Unless of course something happens with the Iran issue!

ec, I found a relevant article that says that on May 2006 we will have in Limassol the international event called "Clean up and Scoop the Med" with UN representatives. It will take place at Lady's mile. So now you can be sure that the beaches in Limassol we be clean ;) http://www.phileleftheros.com/main/main ... &id=410678

I saw a special feature about french beaches on euronews, they had special little boats with filters that drive arround and clean the sea. The result was amazing. I definetly think limassol needs to do something. Every year i find floating condoms at dasoudi amongst other things! But then again we all know what happens there at night ;-)

Well i can honestly say i saw at least one three summers in a row behind pizza hut, like plastic bags they float..
Most annoying is also the gasoline/petrol whatever that the boats leak or dump, it really annoys me.

I personally feel tourism will be better this yar, all around Protaras and Ayia Napa, it is much busier this year and has a real buzz about the place. fantastic!
