the person who invented the word "genocide", Raphael Lemkin, used the Armenians as an example of who had suffered genocide, when describing it on TV. The word was created because it happens so many times he said.

I don't know if any of you have seen the PBS Armenian Genocide documentary which aired last month across the US. Some states also showed a 20-minute discussion panel with Armenian Genocide deniers consisting of an American historian who is getting paid by the Turkish government to deny the genocide and a Turkish historian who couldn't even speak English properly. Then the 2 people that were defending the Armenian Genocide was a Turkish historian and an Armenian-American historian.

All i can say is that both deniers looked and sounded so stupid, the American historian had to explain to his colleague what the moderator was asking him, so dumb! Anyone watching could tell they were chatting shit and in a way it was good that it was shown. Even the moderator could tell that the deniers was dumbasses.

from what i have gathered over many years of learning about the genocide is that the armenians who were ruled by the ottoman empire rebelled against the empire with russia's backing...the ottoman pasha simply said f*ck this sh*t, im making an example of them for other ethnicities and simply killed as many as they could...the sh*t was wrong...innocent people died...but also, the people who decided to fight against the ottomans in the first place died and i dont feel sorry for them...any1 who goes in to war should go into war they are giving their lives for their cause...if cyprus was occupied by america (a near equivalent of the ottoman empire at the time) i would gladly lay down my life fighting for my people...one problem is that u never hear the reason for the genocide...that the armenians fought for independence so the ottomans made an example of them...

like i said before, i dont agree with what the ottomans done...its exactly what america and UK are doing in the middle east...killing innocent people with an excuse...

However, dont forget that the ottomans didnt just randomly jump in there and start slayin people...their was an armenian action that started it all off...im sick of arguing with armenians who dont know that...if it was up 2 me, i would have had things done differently....stop the resistance with only minor casualties (the rebel forces)

The Armenian Genocide is an undeniable truth that the whole world has accepted...only Turkey seems to brazenly deny it. Even Germany accepted responsibility for the Holocaust. Shame on Turkey...NO E.U. membership for Turkey until she admits the truth about Armenian Genocide.

I suppose there are two sides to every story but I mean killing all those innocent Armenians just becuase Turkey wanted to make an example of them...well that's just not right...

Cleary, you have an agenda to disrupt this forum with your confrontational tone, so I will no bother giving any appropriate reply.

I'd be interested to hear though your opinion on the Holocaust, and your reaction to AHmadinajad's denial of it?

The holocaust , is a historical event , it happened . 6 Million , 5 , 4 or 3 , still an awful lot of people.
And so did the Armenian genocide . Accepted historical event by the International community.
Turkish denial its understandable.

can no one see that it was a civil war? people die in wars...armenians revolted and decided to fight us so we thought back...simple...we might aswell call all wars genocide if that is classified as genocide...

if the only argument is the number of people that died, how many people died in the great war? what about WW2? what about the losses in the middle east today?

there is nothing to admit...they wanted to go to war, we went to war...can no one see that we did not attack them, they attacked us?

It is not that they cannot see it, and it is they do not wish to see.
500,000 Moslems were killed in WW1 as a result of the Russo-Armenian agression into Eastern Anatolia, but of course thy are now largely forgotten.
