HI BASAK AND WELCOME TO THE FORUM

If you want why not start a debate on the forum calling it the reasons for turkey not being allowed into the e.u and i am sure that you will get many replies but here are a few of the top of my head.

1- its a muslim country

2- its only partially in europe

3- its too poor and has a high national debt

4- the population would migrate in big masses to other e.u countries

5- they are not true europeans

6- human rights in turkey are non-existant in comparison to e.u states

Hope some of this helps. :)

7- they are still occupying cyprus

8- they have illegally bought 100,000 turks from anatolia against the geneva convention.

9- they deny Greek cypriots the right of return to their properties in the north

10- they have 40,000 illegal troops in north cyprus

The e.u is so far a christian only club and people like the Austrians and french want to keep it that way, for example a austrian diplomat argues that if they let turkey in to the e.u then it would be in vain when they fought back the ottoman turks in vienna in the late 1500's.

Also remember in a debate you need to expand on things for example on item 8 you can start by telling them what the geneva convention is, how turkey has broken this rule, how many settlers have been bought over, how it is changing the population in cyprus etc.

I put those points down as a starting point and now you have to investigate through the internet to pick up more facts and points to give your debate the strength and essence it needs and expand on all the points, then you will have no problem lasting the three hours it will last.
When you have done that try and imagine what sort of counter arguements they will try and hit you with so you can prepare some answers for them, that way you will be able to stand your corner in much stronger form.

I am Turkish cypriot and i understand this will be upsetting for you but we as people do have our wrong sides aswell and the only way we can advance ourselves is to admit and learn from our mistakes which will make us better people.

Bol sanslar ve bana bildir nasil gider ve baska sorularin varsa cekinmeden yaz ve sor.
