Tunel

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Tunel

Postby MicAtCyp » Thu Nov 18, 2004 12:07 am

Has anybody came across an English translation of Sener Levents article titled tunel? It was published in Politis 2 days ago.If yes please upload it here. It is extremely interesting.
If not then I will translate it myself.

PS.Did anybody hear how much the CyprusMediaNet.com got from the Americans to do their "selective" translations of newspaper articles?
$220,000 per year!!! Yeap. Try reading a Greek Translation of a Turkish article though in there. If you understand a single line then tell me.

MicAtCyp,

I have to say that on many occasions I ihave found the majority of translations on the Cyprusmedianet web site to be of extreemely low quality.

The english translations in my view are very poor indeed and to me show a very poor grasp of the english language.

I am therefore surprised that this web site has cost so much to run!

Thank you Mihali.
I had similar thoughts with Sener Levent.
A veto or a some arrangement of similar effect for Turkey's EU relation, will come not from Cyprus, but will be derived from the general European public opinion's feelings of their reluctance towards a relation with Turkey and associated additional moslem element in their already diluted ethnic identities. In other words, due to racist reasons. The current turmoil in the financial atmosphere, the adjustments due to the admision of the the new ten members and the oil/war crises, do not offer a good general mood towards Turkey's prospects.

Whether a "Turkeyin a tunnel" will help the Cyprus problem or not, that depends on the dimensions of the tunnel and whether the allows room for a u-turn.
