In the US no single state has the right to veto. I am talking about a solution that will be based on the US system.

But if you want the system exactly like the US, I have absolutely no problem:

In the US the bigger state has more than 60 times the population of the smaller state.

So we will have the GC state, the TC state, the Armenian state, the Latin state, and the Marnonite state. 2+2+2+2+2=10 senators.

Do your calculations again.

You exploit every little chance you get to make TCs look like a mere minority! I'm really impressed by your determination even though it does absolutely nothing for a solution.

In this case maybe you should say that you want Armenians, Marnonites and Latins to be a "mere minority"?

If being a minority is so bad, then why we should let those compatriots of ours suffer?

If we can not find the 50th state, do not worry my close family and your close family can also constitue two extra state as well. What do you think?

I think you are on the right track. Since if my family and your family will be a state, then everybody's family should be a state. And since some families don't agree between them, they can be partitioned into smaller states also. So in the end we can all have our own personal state, that will be equal with all other 800.000 or so states in Cyprus. Sounds good to me.

I do not know the last time where Maronites, or Latins where on the discussion table.

This is because those other minorities never had a powerful motherland with territorial claims against Cyprus.

The truth is that TCs are a minority, that due to the pressure of Turkey got upgraded in 1960 (veto, 30-40% participations etc), and today they seek to get even more power because they have the tanks of Turkey behind them.

If you call me a Greek and I object to that because I am not a Greek does this mean that I think being Greek is bad? Of course not. What is bad is being told your are something you are not, not the thing that you are mistakenly told you are.

Neither did they have a history of their motherland being former rulers of Cyprus, or have ever been more than 1% of the population, or have they ever expressed a desire for self determination. Still the only difference that matters is of course your difference.

Thats your 'truth'

Another 'truth' (not mine but a comprably skewed one to yours) is that TC and GC shared a common homeland and that GC have never been happy to have to share what they want exclusively for themsleves and that in 1960 they tried to totaly ignore the rights of the other community they shared the Island with and without pressure from Turkey in 1960 and Tanks from Turkey in 74 the TC community in Cyprus would have been 'ethnicaly cleansed' by now. Oh and I may as well add (and this is not a version of the truth but a FACT) that Cyprus would not exists as an independent state at all!
