Do you vote in Cyprus?
Which party(s) do you support?
I also want to know which GC party TCs would vote for, and which TC party the GCs would vote for. |

I think it is about time we had a party that transends the traditional TC/GC barrier. A party that serves the common interests of all the people of Cyprus.
Are there people bold enough to do this? |

An extremely interesting idea, although I have no idea from where one can start. The provision in the Annan plan for GC's and TC's running together for the Presidential Council was along these lines.

Yes, there are and they have recently starting doing this in the north. Check this out.

The question is are there bold GCs to join to this party? I wonder how the "democratic" society in the south will react if some GCs decide to join to this party. Would you consider joining? |

The democratic society in the south burns the heretics to the ground. There is little tollerance for the different. You step out of line and a thousand daemons will come after you. Yes we have joint europe but we have a long way before we become european.
I would join an all cypriot party but I cannot see how this can happen before a solution is found. |

Recently? From what I have noticed, YKP was founded in 1989.

Well....I agree that we still have a long way to go. But at least things now are a lot better than what they were in the 1960's and 1970's. It is also true that with his political behaviour Papadopoulos has taken us all backwards and into times that resemble the "Makarios" era.
I do not think that the situation in the occupied areas is any better, as all the decisions on the more important issues come directly from Ankara.

Yes it was founded in 1989 but I don't think that it was intended to be bicommunal then. It also changed its name to YBH hoping to unify the left parties in the north. Of course it failed so they changed their name back to YKP and now they're open to all EU citizens including GCs.

True but at least TCs are progressive enough to be able to declare a bicommunal party under "undemocratic" conditions. Do you think this can happen in the "democratic" south?
And no GC replied to my question. Would you consider being a member of this new bicommunal party? Why or why not? |

Tell us what this party supports. You know what I support regarding the Cyprus problem. If this party supports what I support (or is closer than any other party) then all good. If it is also close to my beliefs about society and economy (the Cyprus problem is not the only thing that determines my vote) then I would gladly vote for this party. |

| I would vote for the party that recognised the need for a unified cyprus and has a PLAN that can be accepted by all cypriots. |
