| I came across a reference to this team when looking at my English language football almanac. They sound like a team with Turkish Cypriot origins and are possibly the most successful of any such team in Cypriot football history. What does anyone know about this team? Do they still exist in some form? In what town/village did they play? Were they exclusively a Turkish Cypriot team or did they have players from both communities? Are there any Turkish Cypriots participating in the Cypriot leagues at the current time? |

| I think the name is Chetin Kaya or Çetin Kaya. They got some championiships and cups in Cyprus many years ago. I always see the name when I see tables with old champions and cup winners and finalists but I don't know much more about the team. I think they were based in Nicosia but I am not sure. I think the team might still exist in the north. |

the team still exists in the north and it consists solely of turkish cypriot players(there may be also players originating from african countries who play in the team).it used to be once a powerful team in cyprus football mainly during the 1940s-50s and are the permanent champions of the so called 'turkish cpriot league' played in the occupied territories of cyprus.

I remember as a kid in 1962/63 watching this team play in Nicosia. It was the team most people around me supported. I remember a goal being scored by Cetinkaya, and the crowd went mad, because it was at the "90" ( Doksandan) ???
what the hell is the "90" ( Doksandan ) I thought to myself, so I asked my uncle. Well, it was not the distance the shot was taken from to the goal, rather it was at the 90°, meaning, it's where the cross bar meets the post. So the number 90 came to my mind now, with the mention of this team... |

| I thought you were going to say it was the 90" minute! We call what you call "Doksandan" as Gama from the Greek letter that looks like that. |
