Grrr.... you've got me wanting to know now anastasiaC! And I've never even heard it!!!!!
There's maybe something familiar about something going on in the background on that track by the hiptones which is familiar....
the original song you heard, did it have any words apart from "shimmey shimmey" (maybe)? |

We're all weird in some way or another! 
Don't think there's much chance with your song though.... not with so little to go on 
You could always check the top 40 chart e.g http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_singles_archive.php and then go out and buy every single in the chart around the time you first heard the song  |

i think it might be a song by
David Guetta
a swedish DJ as his song 'Love dont let it go' sounds kinda similar..... |
