Worringly, given the game is in March, it seems even they aren't sure yet! This is what it says on their website:

We are building up a database of players that would qualify for the Cypriot team and welcome any queries from aspiring international players

In answer to the retards who think football and fighting with the Turks are the most important things!

The team will consist of some expats but the major force behind rugby in Cyprus is your own countrymen who got out of this backward island for a time and discovered there is more to life than souvla and shooting things. This is an attempt to introduce new sports to the island and has full recognition from the Cyprus Government.

Secondly it is not only Cypriots who use this forum and do like to know what is going on around the island. If you don't want to support it don't!

You could always cheer for the Greeks if not the Cyprus expats!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

and you might rename this topic to "ARE GREEKS COMING?"

I think RUGBY is a great sport, FOOTBALL is gay.
If it wouldnt be for my severe hip arthritis i'd join as i am perfectly fit otherwise.
I am 26, and i thank god that i still manage to windsurf.

Your right Raymanuva,

Rugby is a great sport and we are starting to get Cypriots wanting to join us. Several players in our squad are completely new to the game but have taken to it with great enthusiasm.

Admittedly this Cyprus team will consist of some "qualifying expat players" ie must have resided on the island for over three years but the future is for the Cypriots if they dare take up the challenge of learning the game.

We are getting inquiries from Cypriots playing abroad at the moment and yes of course they are eligible to play for Cyprus.

There will also hopefully be a youth game prior to the big match made up from kids of all nationalities who have learnt the game here. They show great promise and are the future national side of Cyprus.

to quote Saravakos

"Greece v Turkey in euro qualifying. like anyones gonna give a fuck about this"
