Another great victory for AEL Limassol!

DTL EKA AEL Lemesos clinched their place in the quarter-finals of the EuroCup by brushing aside hosts Liege Basket in the fourth quarter en route to a 77-58 victory.

The Cypriot team have now prevailed in four of their five games and can finish top of Group I next week if they win their final game of Round II at BC Siauliai in Lithuania next week, and Estudiantes fall to Liege.

EKA AEL won on Tuesday in Belgium but the victory did not come with ease.

The visitors were trailing 18-17 midway through the second quarter when Michael King, who scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds, buried a three-pointer to make it 20-17.

That began for EKA AEL a 15-2 run which gave them a 32-20 lead.

Liege closed to 36-30 at the start of the second half on Karim Souchu's three-ball, however, and a Pelle dunk made it 37-32.

Another Pelle basket levelled the scores at 48-48 30 seconds into the final quarter.

EKA AEL then went on a decisive 16-2 run to seal victory, with a King tap-in and a Jeron Roberts' three-point play and then a King three-ball starting the surge.

The defeat has left Liege with just one victory in Round II and out of contention for a place in the quarter-finals.

Pelle finished with 25 points in the defeat.
