hi arthur, the north is turkish cypriot dominated and the south greek cypriot dominated.
At the present the two communities are striving to unite as one people and if you do goto cyprus you just might witness history in the making with the unification of cyprus, either way both sides are beautiful and the people are hospitable and good company.

You will have a great time there. :D

Save your money stay where you are. If you go to the south you will get ripped off, steal your watch, clothes, wallet and leave you for dead in an alley in your undies. If you go to the North they will kill your whole family and then urinate on their graves.

Hi Arthur

If you want a good impartial (as possible as that is) reference as to the state of Cyprus today I would suggest

http://www.cyprus-conflict.net/

Oh and please do not think that the poster using the name 'Agios Amvrosis' is in any way typical of either Greek Cypriots or Turkish Cypriots - he is not. Come to Cyprus and enjoy yourself. It's a great place to visit, to stidy in and to live in - either side.
