The best way to defeat the PKK would be by peaceful means, by giving kurds more rights to study their language and by emphasizing the importance of their cultural heritage as an integral part of the rich mosaic of cultures in Turkey.
As long as innocent kurds get hurt in this war, the PKK will only get stronger. I am afraid Turkey lives as much in the past as the PKK terrorists. Remember how an innocent kurdish kid was killed for being a "terrorist" by the security forces. These crimes should be punished with the utmost severity of the law, but so far the perpetrators have not been punished, have they? |

Bg_Turk, but that is not the point. The powerful countries who are supporting PKK don't care about those, they don't give a shit about the Kurds.The powerful countries just use the Kurds. The main aim is to create a turmoil in Turkey, and weaken it by different means.If it was the Kurds themselves they would be given such rights, but what they say they want is just the mask. |

Not really, a few organizations such as MSF and AI reported a nasty backlash after last month's bombings, I won't deny Turkey is making a bit of improvement, but the problems are still there. And they are massive problems, mass poverty among the Kurdish populace et al.
Believe me, The Kurdish populace is living in all the pre-requisites for a civil war, and a civil war will come. The Kurds want their own state, it is as simple as that. |

Why not give the Kurds the right to decide? Hold a referendum and see if they want their own state, a 70% supermajority means they will get it.... Do you agree? |
