I am convinced that Cyprus could put together a Union team. Cyrpiots are built for rugby with all those sheftalies and loukanika.
There are a couple of promising Cypriot australian players in Oz and Nz and surely there are some Cyps who play rugby in the UK & South Africa. We could do OK. It would be easy to get a bit of international attention for Cyprus this way.
We could field a team in the Rugby 7's. |

As far as i know a Representative Cyprus Team does exist consisting of players from the civilian sides in cy (ie Paphos Tigers, Limassol Crusaders and Nicosia Barbarians) although a truelly Cypriot National Team can be created within two years if Rugby is continually promoted on the island if the rate of new Local players increases at the rate it has up to now.
Just my 2c. |

Im coming to Pafos for the New Year for a few days with my partner, we intend to settle just outside Pafos in October 2008, I am into Rugby big time and would like to know what th best local side is for both Rugby and the 'social' aspect of the game I am also into lifting weights, are there any good 'hard core' gyms in the area
Thanks, Mick |
