hello laurenohara! Can you show us some of those articles? I think what matters most is the general attitude of a newspaper. I mean they can write 10 articles being very critical for one side, and then write 1 to be a bit critical of another side just so they will make their affiliation less obvious. Do you think somebody criticizing the British like Lucas Charalambous is criticizing Papadopoulos could be accepted in Cyprus Mail?

well I think you`ll find that coffeeshop often criticises the government..all my articles can be read online...in the archives...to be honest I think freedom of speech and openness is the most valuable part of any society..and of course we all have different opinions..that`s healthy

The above is an article about the 1958 era. At one part the article says "The Cyprus Mail, noted for its moderation in criticising the Government ..."

"The government" at that time were the British colonialists.

So when the British ruled Cyprus the Cyprus Mail was "noted for its moderation in criticising the Government", while now, with a goverment that does not align itself with the interests of the AngloAmericans the Cyprus Mail is noted for the exact opposide.

So by being noted for its criticism of the Goverment it makes it an instument of the British????

Why not an instrument of the Turks or the Germans or any other nationality for that matter????
