AlexISS, bosses never beat their workers up, they just torture them all their lives by not paying them enough. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Yes but, unlike the young criminals who, after taking a beating, stop robbing old ladies, the workers, no matter how underpaid and tortured, will be to work right on time the next morning

No problems here either except for that odd twitch now and then...

Anyway, my tendency is to agree with Eliko on this - a couple (ok, a few) slaps in the face is probably the best way to proceed with kids that age - a criminal record won't do them or the public any good. The kids will get over it. That said, it does look like the police took it a bit too far in that video.

I saw a report that the officers were being disciplined for this (I'm too lazy to find the link). You really can't pretend it doesn't exist when it's all over you tube.

Getting busted from your own video footage, though...even worse than getting busted by television cops with an entire camera crew in tow. Laughing Laughing Laughing

They were not kids exactly dinos

So it would be ok if someone in Greece arrested you and gave you a few slaps here and there??

Greece was humiliated by this bullshit video.

I am 26yo and last year a got more than a few slaps when i was arrested in the Acropolis police station in Athens for carrying a small knife that was needed for my part-time job.

Off course i was acquited from any charges in the court the very next day bsc i asked to go to court immediately.I cant afford a criminal record.

Sometimes the Greek police goes to unnessecary extremes...and to think my mum is on the force...

They may not have been kids, but they didn't look like they're 30 either. In any case, if I go and commit a crime, I'll be big enough to take the punishment that comes along with it. And, personally, I'd take the slaps NOW as opposed to going through the "system," ending up with a criminal record and having employment and educational opportunities impacted.

And while I did say that the police took it a touch too far, those kids hardly took a serious beating. Police brutality is a beating with a billy club or use of a lethal weapon, in my opinion. Those two got a break. Don't expect me to feel bad for them as they clearly broke the law.

Speaking of harsh punishments, the 10 year anniversary of the Bobbit incident recently passed. Laughing That's the one where the wife cut off the husband's willy because he had cheated on her, then rode around in the car and threw it out the window. Doctors re-attached it and it works again, albeit an inch or two shorter, depending on how sharp the knife was. That's what you have to hope that the police never do... Laughing

have you even been mug ,lost a love one in a shotting ,had a relative or friend killed because some twat drinks and drives ....everyone says i wont kill but when you have a victum close to you ..things change

to be honest i think police in cyprus have a lot on their plate ,and greece too ...too many killed on roads due to mindless lack of discipline of our culture ...i agree with the actions of the police ...

WAIT TILL ASBOS COME TO CYPRUS IN 2008 ....no more wheelies in the road ...cctv ,new prisions ...cyprus and greece have the least crime in europea per head ...watch that figure halve even more ...with zero tolerance and national service becomes 18 months of hard training ....discipline ..love it ..well done greek police ...

alexISS, how then would you deal with the two young thugs who mugged the old lady?. Question

I would lock them in the police station's jail. Beating them will not prevent them from repeating the crime, they may as well kill their next victim to make sure the police does not get their descriptions

Eliko, no good trying to talk sense to people like alexISS, there is only one way to find out how he/she really stands by asking a simple question.

Here goes;

' If you had seen/ apprehended a couple of youths beating the shit out of your mother/grand mother, what would you do to them? '

Bet his answer is kill the bastards, if he says put them in a hotel with 3 squares a day , play playstation all day and out on licenece on weekends to do it again. Then this person is a piece of shit.

End of story.

Do gooders are the ones who have made the world an unsafe place. My kids have grown up, but i still worry because of idiots like alexiss who speak up for these criminals.

Get rid of do gooders = get rid of crime
