Great picture Umit, but why is he wearing tennis shoes? Was this picture taken at Wimbledon?
But seriously, he was a good looking young man. Do you know who's hand is that on his shoulder and why they cut the picture in half?
I love his socks!!! Smile Smile

My grandma was in the other half but I couldn't find it. The socks are weird, I would guess the picture is from the 30's.

Fantastic photos. That is how I remember Cyprus. Bring the make of the cars forward a few years to the late fifties, early sixties and it is exactly the way it was then. I could feel the shimmering heat coming off those photos and the shade looked so cool. I've even thought of seeing if the BBC sound effects department has recordings of the cycadas chirping. That was the sound I associate with hot summers in Nicosia. I might get a recording and play it from speakers in my back garden here in London on hot summer days and on warm evenings when we have barbecues. What an atmosphere it would create! Yeah, I know, I'm bonkers!

The Turkish side is still very much like in those old photos. The lovely old houses made out of mud and straw bricks have mostly gone on the Greek side which is a real shame.
