Hang on here.The Cypriot flag was designed by a Turkish-speaking Cypriot,as was the Cypriot Coat-of-Arms.It represents all of Cyprus,not only southern Cyprus!

I, for one, don't have a problem with southern C in this descriptive context, as long as the "s" stays lower case please. |

Bill,I always start 'southern' with a lower case 's',as to me,the Republic of Cyprus is the whole island outside the 2 Sovereign Base Areas anyway.
THERE'S ONLY ONE CYPRUS - NEITHER GREEK NOR TURKISH,BUT CYPRIOT!

As for the RoC flag, as flags go it's not terribly offensive. Looks like it was designed by a committee in a hurry. Would it help if, as someone suggests above, the olive branch was removed. I would like to see it replaced, perhaps with some taro leaves in the beak of a shot wood pigeon.

In truth the people that chase you out, are probably dead or paying some huge debt to God. You need to understand that Cypriots have changed, those times have passed, time to move on, preferably forward. In actual fact the GC terrorists from EOKA as I like to call them, did not only target TC, but many GC. At the time who ever worked for British bases got targetted, this is how it was. Any GC who worked there were branded as traitors and therefore terminated. The terrirists are now gone, most dead and burried or too old to walk, so there is no fear. Therefore you can come back home, all of you can. I see loads of TC in the streets, nobody says anything bad to them. I gave you the solution to fixing your flag problem, I suggest you do what was said and leave it as that. |
