I am new to Cyprus, from Sussex, England.
I am 27 yrs old and was wondering what people of my age get up to around peyia and pafos. I am with my parents for now and I know their friends but no one around my age. Are there any social clubs for younger people, what do you all get up to??
I look forwards to hearing from anyone.
Thanks, Kelly. |

My email is o23kelly@aol.com.
Let me know a bit about you. Age, where you live, what you get up to etc.
I am Kelly, 27, very new to cyprus, 2 weeks! Living with my parents for now. Separated from husband. Looking for a job but dont know what i fancy yet!
I enjoy going out for drinks and meals. I like swimming in the sea and sunbathing, I usually go down to Coral bay. I like cycling and walking too, when its not too hot! I dont like Mosquitos (they seem to like me lots at the moment!)
Look forwards to hearing from you,
Kelly. |

Dear Kelly,
Cyprus is a wonderful place, as long as you have the right job and your with the right crowd. I like it hear, and will never go back on a permanent basis to live in the UK. The UK was also wonderful, I liked it there too. The reasons I left were personal, like your own.
I think you will like it hear. Just remember, in the beginning it might be hard, but stick it out and it will all be worth it. It normally takes around 8 months to adjust. Never listen to anybody, and listen to yourself. Remember, you know best about you. Cypriots do have a tendancy to preach some random cr*p which has no bearing.
About myself, basically I am a GC person born and bread in the UK. Sometimes people have the tendancy to say I am not Cypriot, when in essence they are completely wrong. Being GC, is not bound to place of birth, but bound by name, and your roots.
I welcome you to Cyprus, and may you find a job of your liking.
PS: with the euro Cyprus is fairly similar to the UK in income and expenses (excl. London). |
